On July 15, 1968 at 4 PM, WWUH began broadcasting for the first time.  In honor of the 45th Birthday of WWUH, the show consisted entirely of music from 45 R.P.M. records.  These were either 7 inch singles, or 12 inch singles that were 45 R.P.M.  The only exception was the first selection, which was played for Lester Chambers, member of The Chambers Brothers, who was brutally beaten onstage by a fan at a concert this past weekend.  "Side 2@2" consisted of "B- Sides" this week.

Tonight's show celebrates the anniversary of the release of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" as a single, 44 years ago on July 11, 1969. Rush released to coincide with the Apollo 11 lunar landing, it originally stalled at #124 on the US charts. Upon it's re-release in 1973, the song charted at #15, becoming Bowie's first US hit.  Another anniversary of a release was also celebrated- The The's "Mind Bomb" was released on July 11, 1989- the album was featured on "Side 2@2" as well as a bonus cut from side 1.
