PROGRAM NOTES:
This show marks 2 historic moments in Rock 'n' Roll history-  The first American performance of Led Zeppelin (Dec 26, 1968) and Jimi Hendrix composing "Purple Haze" (Dec 26, 1966).  The first set commemorates these moments, I played some live Zeppelin from the BBC Sessions and a couple alternate versions of Henrdix songs from the Box Set.

December 21 also marked Frank Zappa's birthday, I know there have been plenty of "Zappa's Birthday" tribute shows recently, but I was feeling it, so I played a side from Shiek Yerbouti, and a couple of other assorted Zappa songs.

PROGRAM NOTES:
The first song is a special request from Mike in Lebanon, whose father, Ron passed away this past week.  Mike had requested "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang in memory of his dad. He told me via email that the song brought back very happy memories of his mom and dad.  Glad to oblige, Mike, your father was always very nice whenever I had the opportunity to speak with him.

The first hour is based on a "Friday the Thirteenth" theme, again, another excuse to dig out a few of the many versions of "I Put A Spell on You" and "Born Under a Bad Sign."  In the second hour, some quiet, indie-rock songs, to decompress during this pre-holiday and college finals season.  Finally, we concluded with 2 side-long songs in the third hour.
