This week, we celebrate drummer Ginger Baker's 75th birthday (born 8/20/39).  You know him as the drummer of Cream, Blind Faith and Ginger Baker's Air Force.  The inventor of rock druming as we know it, Baker has influenced drummers such as Neil Peart of Rush among many others.  Baker has also worked with countless other artists and bands, such as Fela Kuti, Hawkwind, Public Image Limited and Masters of Reality.  Still going strong at 75, Baker has released a new jazz album "Why?"

2012 saw the release of a documentary about Baker, "Beware of Mr. Baker."  It was this award winning film that inspired me to compile a career retrospective (much incomplete due to time constraints.)
