With the warm weather finally upon us, it turned my thoughts to live summertime music and outdoor concerts. So, with that in mind, I based my show around the more lengthy live jams that just scream "Live Summer Music!" to me.  The exception being the first set, which started out with a new warm-weather favorite by Amos Lee.  Another relative new face on the Summer music festival circuit, The Avett Brothers closed out the first set.

The "Summer Solstice" Edition
TWITTER: @whatsnextwwuh

PROGRAM NOTES:
The Summer Solstice occurred during my show at 1:04AM EDT, so naturally, I did a Summer themed show.  Also, at the request of my daughter, I played some songs for her, since it was the start of her Summer vacation (and she was able to stay up late to listen!)  A few weeks ago, I did a Summer-themed set, which contained several versions of Gershwin's "Summertime" (admittedly, one of my favorite Summer songs!)  I played several tonight, but I didn't repeat any from the show a few weeks back.

Side 2@2 was a tough call for me, I usually decide on that before the show starts, but it was up in the air tonight.  After looking through the WWUH record library's Grateful Dead section, I selected "Terrapin Station."  The Dead seems to conjure up the essence of summer in my eyes, so it appeared to be an obvious choice.  Side 2 of "Terrapin" runs rather short, so I played a few other additional Dead songs after it.
